Documentary is an art form that always attracted me, so I decided to try it myself.
And I decided to tell a story through the voices of those who live that same story day after day, year after year.
Country Tales is about Montalcino, the world renowned small town in the heart of Tuscany, famous for its wine, considered one of the best in the entire world.
But how a small farmer town in the Italian countryside happened to become what it is now? Certainly because of the wine it produces, but most importantly thanks to the people that worked so hard to create such an excellence.
The production of this piece span across an entire year, during which me and my travel companions, Giorgio Masellis and Luca Simonelli, visited Montalcino many times, every time discovering something new about its history and its people.
